This page describes my attempt to built a HO Live-Steam locomotive from scratch. My first success was to construct a working boiler and a small oscillating steam engine. The engine is entirely made of brass (with the exception of the flywheel) and the boiler is made of copper. With the current boiler, it runs for about 1 1/2 minutes on one filling of water. Most of the parts I used are readily available brass tubes and profiles that can be bought in the hobby-store.
This last (and finally working!) construction took me about 3 days to build, but my unsuccessful attempts go back many, many years....
I will update this page with new information and pictures as I continue the construction of the loco...
